I also found the seats/seating position in the Outback more comfortable for long rides. However, after driving both back-to-back, the ride and handling of the Outback won me over. "I started off looking for a Forester because that's the size car I wanted - thought the Outback was simply too big. both are good cars but the Forester is a bit more SUVish in ride and handling and the Outback a bit more sedan-like, quieter and with a better interior finish. Here's what I wrote on another "Forester or Outback?" thread - ". Thanks everyone for your feedback and opinions, I appreciate it. In closing, this will be my wife's daily driver, but it will also be used to haul the kids around to all their events etc. Safety (We will get Eyesight on whatever model we choose)ĥ. The things that are important to my wife are:Ĥ. I also know which forum I am on, but that doesn't matter, I just want information. I know opinions vary, but that is why I am asking for the feedback, because I want to hear what you liked and why. I can look at the specs side by side online, but I am looking for folks that have either owned both or extensively test driven both to provide some real world feedback on which they liked and why. If we go Forester, I think we would wait for the 17, but I think the driving experience between the 16 and 17 Forester will be pretty similar to use for comparison. I know the 17 Forester is due out soon and will have a host of updates. We have driven the Outback and I think we will go back today and drive both 16 models side by side to compare. I have looked at both Outback and Forester. My wife likes to sit up higher when driving, which is what led me to Subaru along with their exceptional ratings. That being said, we are looking to get rid of the car and try out Subaru. I have always been a Honda person until this car. All Honda does is provide system updates and say they are working on the radio issues.

The car has been into the dealer several times because the FM radio does not work properly and the 9 speed transmission is horrible. My wife currently drives a 2016 Honda Pilot Touring, which we are very unhappy with.
